The Sun Life UpTown Waterloo Jazz Festival is one of the highlights in the Waterloo Region summer and is FREE for all to attend.  Simply put, our Festival is not possible without the generous support of our Sponsors.  We are so thankful for each and every one of them.

This year will mark the 34th year for the Sun Life UpTown Waterloo Jazz Festival.  As a Not For Profit Organization we present a 3 day Festival of music that attracts a diverse range of 20,000 music fans from our Community and from out of town.  We are a Jazz Festival but often present performers from other genres of music that are related to Jazz: R & B, American Songbook (often vocalists), blues, big band, world music and some pop. Our Artistic Director is very creative in finding performers with broad appeal mixed with traditional jazz performers.

We present world-class performers with a heavy emphasis on Canadian talent featuring musicians from all across the Country and our vibrant local music scene.  We have featured many JUNO and GRAMMY winners and nominees at past Festivals including Matt Dusk, Jesse Cook, Alex Cuba, Holly Cole, Monkey House, Freddie Cole, Laila Biali, Tim Louis and many others.  A highlight of every Festival is the Youth Jazz Ensemble which features high school students (a different group each year) led by local music instructor Jason White.  This year's program will continue the tradition of offering top talent.
